Owning and Running a Healthy Organisation

Someone I know recently sent me an email - one of those annoying circular ones you know you should block as spam, but never quite get round to. Anyway this one turned out to be quite interesting.

Owning and Running a Healthy Organisation

What are the steps to creating and maintaining a healthy organisation?

1. Build a Unified and Solid Team

A team that communicates together, plans together and trusts one another. A unified team is singularly the most important factor in business.

2. Having Absolute Clarity of Purpose

The three steps to clarity of purpose are:

  • Establish an image of your ideal business (the vision)
  • Establish purpose (what business are you in)
  • Determine values (guides to achieving your purpose)

Absolute accountability comes with absolute clarity and people understanding their role.

3. Communicate Vision, Purpose, and Values

Share this information - the more you share with employees, customers and suppliers, simply the better the result.

4. Develop Systems with Reflect your Vision and Values

Systems such as recruitment, appraisal, accountability, and counselling, should consistently reflect your values. In this way your decision making is consistent.

Healthy and vibrant businesses are always a reflection of leadership. As a business owner everything always rises and falls on leadership.
