Eight weeks old

My beard reached eight weeks old this morning and is noticeably bigger now and drawing comments. A friend remarked that I looked like Michael Card - which I took as a compliment (Michael is a Christian artist that Debs and I admire - click here for his website).

It is getting a little maddeningly untidy now and I'm looking forward to the time when I can have it tidied up. I've stopped trimming my moustache and defined a new neckline - lower leaving about a razor's width of neck. It is getting to the point of why bother - but I have the razor out for my head and I have never liked the look of my neck hair.

The beard has really taken too the new combing techique down on the front and sides and up on the neck and under the chin. It pretty well stays like that all the time and the combing just tidies it up.

I've started collecting photos of beards I like so that when I visit the barber I can guide them as to what I'd like. I'll post a few in a day or two along with a progress shot. Here's one I like to be going on with - this is King Edward, Victoria's son. He was over-weight and a bit of a Lothario, but his beard is regal - as one might expect of a king, though is seldom found. I did a quick survey of the Kings of England and only found a few that I liked.
