Friday Drive
The radio show went well tnight, though I was perhaps not my best. We had a guest on - my first - talking about funding for special needs education at Belgrave Heights Christian School. They have a special charity concert on Monday featuring ex Australian Idol contenstant, Cosima De Vito. The concert is called Bridges of Hope and you can find out more by clicking on the link.
There is a real issue with funding for special needs children in the independent education sector here in Australia. Thousands of dollars are spent on special needs children in State education but very little follows the child if they go to an independent school like Belgrave Heights or Mountain Distrct Christian School where my kids go. The situation is grossly unfair - the school is not allowed to charge more - but will incurr thousands of dollars of costs in special equipment and additional staffing.
People who send their kids to Christian schools often have little choice because of their beliefs - why should they be doubly disadvantaged?
That's my rant for the day.
